Description

Project name: TA to the EU-PNG Partnership for Good Governance

Brief description:

This contract focuses on the provision of technical assistance aiming at:

  • rolling out governance and integrity mechanisms throughout the police force,
  • improving RPNGC community policing capacities, infrastructure and equipment,
  • enhancing capacities in governance, efficiency and integrity of the judicial system,
  • revitalizing the Papua New Guinea's Village Court system,
  • improving gender accountability, monitoring and reporting within the justice system, and ensuring the Programme's visibility,
  • fulfilling the programme's budget support eligibility criteria.

Duration of the assignment: minimum of 350 workdays over approximately 4 years

Requirements:

Qualifications and skills

  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent academic qualification (university or similar institution) in sociology, gender, or any relevant field directly related to this assignment;
  • If the expert does not have a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field,  she/he must have, in addition to the professional experience required below, an equivalent professional experience in a relevant field of at least 3 years;
  • Excellent communication skills, both in written and spoken English.

General experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as gender specialist, of which at least 3 years of professional experience in at least two different developing countries, preferably in at least two different continents.

Specific experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience providing technical advice on gender mainstreaming in the public sector;
  • A minimum of 3 demonstrated professional experiences in providing on-the-job or classroom-based training, coaching and mentoring;
  • Experience with the promotion of data collection and reporting on gender disaggregated data an advantage.
