PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
o Plan and implement fundraising development, in conjunction with the Executive Director and other relevant directors, including current and planned giving programs
o Makes calls to prospective donors
o Prepares and/or organizes grant applications for IWI projects and staff salaries
o Prepares reports for Executive Director as required and necessary
o Maintains all donor and fund development records
o Works with appropriate staff to create materials, including but not limited to, brochures, newsletters, special projects, and annual reports, to aid IWI’s attempts at fundraising
o Completes all other assignments as required by the Executive Director
o Compile and maintain a database of international and local donor organizations, including international foundations, bilateral and multilateral agencies and private corporations offering donations
o Regularly monitor and inform Executive Director of donation opportunities matching the work of IWI o Write concept notes, project ideas and project proposals and ensure their timely submission
o Undertake independent research in finding alternative resources for IWI’s long-term sustainability
o Organize or provide assistance in organizing any fundraising events for the organization
REQUIREMENTS
o Minimum 3 years of professional work experience, including experience of leadership giving in corporate fundraising o Understanding about IWI's works and/or humanitarian issues
o Work experience in professional fundraising skills, and/or marketing skills
o Excellent knowledge of donation application process
o Proven skills in writing, drafting, translation and communication and presentation skills
o Experience in fundraising for an advocacy and/or research projects relating to women’s rights would be considered an
advantage
o Be able to work efficiently with remotely based teams
o Passionate about women’s rights and gender equality
o Excellent writing and speaking skills in English
o Outstanding interpersonal skills- approachable, diplomatic and a good sense of humour
o Great attention to detail and ability to work within strict, often conflicting, deadlines
o A self-starter
o Able to provide a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week
o A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which support and enable sound decision making
o A multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment
