Description

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

o Responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations campaigns that will enhance IWI’s image and position within the general public, and facilitate internal and external communications;

o Manage IWI marketing, communications and public relations activities and materials including publications, media relations and so forth;

o Ensure articulation of IWI’s desired image and position, assure consistent communication of image and position throughout IWI, and assure communication of image and position to all constituencies, both internal and external;

o Coordinate media interest in IWI and ensure regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media requests;

o Act as IWI’s representative with the media;

REQUIREMENTS

o Ability to work efficiently with remotely based teams;
o Excellent writing and speaking skills in English;
o Great attention to detail and ability to work within strict, often conflicting, deadlines;
o Able to provide a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week
o A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which support and enable sound decision making;

o A multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment
o Minimum of 5 years experience in marketing, communications or public relations with demonstrated success, preferably in the NGO sector;
o Experience working with volunteers is desirable;
o Significant communications experience that includes a blend of advocacy and media relations;
o A strong track record of positioning an organization to achieve tangible outcomes in a competitive communications environment;
o Ability to coach and support senior directors as spokespersons if needed;
o Proven leadership in marketing;
o Up to speed with current and online marketing techniques and best practices.
