Description

The purpose of this contract is to improve the integration of environment, biodiversity, climate change and Disaster Risk Reduction (EBCD) in EU supported policies, programmes and investments.

Support will be provided to partner countries’ institutions and to EU services, both EU Delegations and Commission headquarters. The services provided will contribute to implement the EU Green Deal’s ambition to mainstream environmental sustainability and climate objectives in all EU policies and action.

Under the guidance of the team leader, the expert will provide specialised services in support of EBCD mainstreaming in investments.

Qualifications required:
Qualifications and skills • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in environmental science and/or management, economics, finance, sustainable development, or related disciplines • Proven experience and knowledge of established methodologies and tools for the integration (or mainstreaming) of EBCD in public and private investments, notably environmental standards and safeguards for investments • Proven experience and knowledge of blending and investments and guarantees • Good writing and communication skills • A minimum C1 Level in English. • A minimum B2 Level in French and/or Spanish will be considered as an asset.

Professional experience required:
General professional experience • At least 8 years of professional experience, including 4 years in areas related to investments Specific professional experience • At least 3 years working on EBCD matters • Work experience with a Development Finance Institution4 or Multilateral Development Bank5 will be considered as an asset
