Expert in promoting cluster building along value chains, regionalization of value chains and value addition along trade corridors.
Experience in turning trade corridors into economic corridors by means of trade and export diversification in a regional context.
Expert on training multipliers (training of trainers) on issues of trade and investment promotion, trade facilitation, entrepreneurship, compliance with import requirements, export readiness and strategies for successfully entering specific target markets.
Experience in providing training on various trade facilitation tools, such as the UNIDO Investment Monitoring Platform, and the use of trade statistics and databases offered by UNCTAD, ITC, OECD, World Bank, and WTO, etc.
Expert in conceptualising private sector development strategies and the required resources mobilisation strategies.
Knowledgeable about the National Trade Integration Strategy of Nepal (NTIS 2016) and the export promotion strategies (ITC).
Experience in establishing a structured and coherent trade policy coordination approach with an appropriate institutional framework to strengthen the capacities of relevant line ministries and export-oriented companies.
Expert in providing tailor-made training on any of the WTO Agreements, incl. the interface between the Multilateral Trading System and (EU) Regional/Preferential Trading Schemes (EBA, GSP+, GSP), as well as related rules-of-origin.
Substantial experience in advising Governments and the private sector on issues of achieving export readiness, export diversification, and export promotion.
Familiar with investment schemes of multilateral donors such as the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, or the EU (External Investment Plan).
Familiar with various green growth/green economy approaches.
Knowledge of EU project rules and procedures (SWOT, PCM, capacity building tools, M+E, results-based management).
Experience in integrating issues of social inclusiveness (gender and youth) systematically into trade and investment promotion activities, e.g. by devising training modules specifically to the needs of women’s entrepreneurs/women’s associations or business operators in remote areas.
