Nature Based Solutions: Tools for Europe and Central Asia | Virtual

Increasing urbanization and climate change pose complex challenges to urban systems, requiring urgent attention worldwide. Recent studies, such as the one launched by the Commission on Global Adaptation, devise a way to increase the resilience of urban centers. Among the main recommendations is the use of nature-based solutions (NBS), which prove to be efficient alternatives to the urban challenges faced by local governments.

Making Cities Resilient 2030 (MCR2030) is a unique cross-stakeholder initiative for improving local resilience through advocacy, sharing knowledge and experiences, establishing mutually reinforcing city-to-city learning networks.  The webinar is part of a larger set of activities to support cities on their journey to reduce risk and build resilience, as well as an opportunity to provide an introduction to ICLEI Europe – one of the Core Partners of MCR2030 – and the service offered by NetworkNature which can support cities to progress along with the resilience roadmap.

NetworkNature is the one-stop resource for the nature-based solutions community that fosters dialogue and cooperation among this community as well as with new target audiences – all to improve the uptake of NBS across science, business, policy, and practice. Experience from ICLEI and MCR2030 cities will also be shared.
