As part of the commitment to support businesses in Greater Manchester to navigate their international trade journey, the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce (GMCC) is pleased to launch a free series of Bitesize Sessions. The purpose of these sessions is to provide support and advice to businesses trading internationally during this time of change.
These sessions will provide an overview of a different topic each time including: general export and import processes, border controls, and export documentation, etc.
26th October 2022 β Aid Funded Business Opportunities
This session in partnership with DevelopmentAid will provide an overview of aid-funded opportunities and how DevelopmentAid can help your business.
According to the UK Government, in 2020, Development agencies paid out over $161.2 billion in loans and grants. Countries use this money to buy the goods and services they need to design and carry out projects which further their development plans.
Projects tend to be long-term, and in a wide range of areas from agriculture to telecoms and infrastructure as well as services. They provide many export opportunities for UK companies, either as prime contractors themselves, or as suppliers of goods and services to prime contractors, or as part of consortiums.
Getting into the βfunded aid businessβ can take a long time and serious commitment but equally, it can be highly rewarding. These bitesize sessions will cover some of the basics about funded aid projects and how British companies can get involved.
