Technical workshop on Care, Decent Work and Macroeconomic Policy

📅 27-28 March 2023
Geneva Switerland

This technical workshop will showcase the results of the UN Women and – ILO Joint Programme collaboration, inform on key lessons learnt, share innovative approaches, and reflect on issues and strategic future perspectives on care, decent work and macroeconomic policy.

The UN Women-ILO Joint Programme has used evidence-based policy analysis and advocacy, technical advice and capacity strengthening to enable the creation of political consensus for the adoption of macro-level economic policy accelerators supporting gender-equitable inclusive growth and more and better jobs for women; to support the adoption of sectoral and industrial policies that tackle occupational and sectoral segregation and enhance women’s access to decent employment opportunities, through policy advice, capacity development and technical support; and to ensure that investments in care service provision – in health, long-term care, and education are costed, financed and implemented.

To reflect on this work, the UN Women-ILO Joint Programme is convening a Technical workshop on Care, Decent Work and Macroeconomic Policy at ILO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland on 27-28 March 2023. The Technical Workshop will showcase the results of the UN Women and ILO collaboration, inform on key lessons learnt, share innovative approaches, and reflect on issues and strategic future perspectives on Care, Decent Work and Macroeconomic Policy.

It will bring together government counterparts, representatives from workers’ and employers’ organizations, national implementing partners, experts, and country, regional and global teams from UN Women and ILO.
