Global Forum on Remittances, Investment and Development (GFRID) Summit 2023

πŸ“… 14 -16 June 2023
Nairobi, Kenya

IFAD, the UN Office of the Special Adviser for Africa, and the World Bank are hosting the Global Forum on Remittances, Investment, and Development (GFRID) Summit 2023.

Promoted by the United Nations as a platform to engage all sectors, GFRID 2023 will explore opportunities and challenges in the post-pandemic landscape, with a major focus on main remittance corridors and diaspora investment innovations in Africa.

As for every summit, the GFRID Summit 2023 will facilitate networking among sectors, as well as the exchange of best practices and the creation of synergies towards joint, innovative initiatives aimed at unleashing the power of remittances and diaspora investment towards sustainable development.

The summit aims to improve understanding of migrant and diaspora contributions to development, impacts on national and global policies, and market opportunities for service providers in both remittance and investment ecosystems.

The summit will focus on sharing practical mechanisms and models to boost the achievement of the SDGs in light of the upcoming dedicated Summit in September this year. Further, it will explore innovations to implement the Global Compact for Migration. Around 500 delegates from the public and private sectors, and civil society, are expected to join, both from Africa and globally.
