Corruption is a major impediment to development as it diverts resources from more productive uses and negatively affects shared prosperity by disproportionally benefiting those in power. Aware of the high societal and environmental costs of corruption, the World Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to anticorruption as a development priority and seeks to foster partnerships with other stakeholders who are working towards better governance and integrity.

The World Bank Group (WBG) is hosting the Anticorruption for Development (AC4D) Global Forum in Washington, D.C. on June 26-27, 2023. The Forum will bring together about 150 partners, leaders, and practitioners from government, private enterprise, academia, civil society, foundations, and other international development organizations working in areas of anticorruption and integrity.

The Forum is hosted by the World Bank’s Governance Global Practice, and co-hosted by Transparency International; UNODC; U4 Anticorruption Resource Center; Chandler Foundation; USAID, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), and the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
