This year, ADB’s Gender Equality Division is hosting a hybrid event focused on raising awareness about the intersection of gender and disability, bringing together a panel to discuss how the issues facing women and girls with disabilities need to be addressed to ensure the acceleration of progress in gender equality.
The event is scheduled to commemorate the United Nations International Day for Persons with Disabilities (3 December) and Human Rights Day (10 December).
This will be the first ADB forum with a focus on women and girls with disabilities. It will provide an overview of the forthcoming publication, Gender Equality and Disability Inclusion: Guidelines to Address the Specific Needs of Women and Girls with Disabilities.
