In the face of new threats, the notion of peace rapidly gains attention. Suddenly, new threats to peace look very different from the past. The silent peace antagonist can live undetected. They do not always carry explosives or guns. At times they remain invisible, yet the consequences of their actions can leave a lasting and devastating impact.
Today’s youth are exposed to and concerned about threats to peace facing the current world. New risks bring about new challenges and yet even in the most challenging of times, there is hope that revolutionary solutions can emerge.
Young people offer innovative perspectives that can help solve some of the greatest global challenges. When it comes to peace, young people hold strong leadership potential and play an important role in the future of peacebuilding. The young people can emerge as the heroes of the future.
The Peace Summit of Emerging Leaders gives youth the tools to be a champion of peace. Delegates will have the opportunity to learn from world-leading Peace Activists and network with like-minded individuals in the advancement of a more peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable world.
