UNRWA receives donation from Hasene International to support vulnerable children in Gaza

UNRWA is pleased to announce a contribution of EUR 2.5 million from Hasene International. This donation supports child protection activities and children in need, as part of the Agency’s ongoing occupied Palestinian territory Emergency Appeal.

The war in Gaza has resulted in a severe humanitarian crisis, with children among the most vulnerable populations. Over 37,000 Palestinians reportedly have lost their lives since the war began in October 2023. Additionally, around 87,200 reportedly have been injured, with more than 1,300 children missing. An estimated 17,000-25,000 children are unaccompanied or separated from their families, many of them having lost one or both parents.

The partnership between Hasene and UNRWA aims to address the urgent needs of children by providing financial support and covering basic needs such as food, water, and medication. This initiative will help mitigate the immense financial strain facing families across the Gaza Strip.
