5th International Forum on Low Carbon Cities & 2025 Regional Partners Forum on Sustainable Urban Development

📅 25 – 27 August 2025
Bangkok, Thailand

The 5th International Forum on Low Carbon Cities (IFLCC) and the 2025 Regional Partners Forum on Sustainable Urban Development (RPF) will be held from 25 to 27 August 2025 in-person in Bangkok and online on Microsoft Teams.

The Forums are organized by the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in collaboration with North-East Asian Subregional Programme for Environmental Cooperation (NEASPEC), Asia-Pacific Localization Partnership for Sustainable Cities (APLP-CITIES), UN-Habitat and Incheon Metropolitan City.

These Forums will serve as key platforms to exchange insights, experiences, and good practices on the interlinkages between demographic transition and the development of low carbon cities. They will also contribute toward the development and implementation of sustainable urban strategies across the region.

In addition, the Forums will facilitate inputs for the assessment of the region’s progress on localizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and advancing the implementation of the New Urban Agenda. Outcomes will help shape the priorities for the 9th Asia-Pacific Urban Forum (APUF-9) and contribute to regional preparations for the 13th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD-13) to be held in February 2026, which will include a regional review of progress on SDG 11 and provide regional insights for the Secretary-General’s Third Quadrennial Report on the Implementation of the New Urban Agenda.
