KfW IPEX-Bank has arranged a EUR 120 million syndicated term loan facility for Uzbekistan’s state-owned Agrobank to refinance German and European exports and green technologies over three years, according to a press release. The German bank served as sole bookrunner and brought two European banks into the financing arrangement. This facility will help European enterprises access Uzbekistan’s agricultural market.
The financing is part of KfW IPEX-Bank’s work in emerging markets through banking solutions. Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector has undergone modernization efforts, creating opportunities for technology providers and equipment suppliers. The three-year term gives flexibility to both the borrower and participating companies.
Dr. Velibor Marjanovic, Member of the Management Board of KfW IPEX-Bank, highlighted the facility’s role.
“The facility will make it easier for small and medium-sized enterprises in particular to access a growth market and broaden their sales base,” he said.
The arrangement targets refinancing needs for German and European exports while supporting Agrobank’s investments in sustainable technologies.
The syndicated structure shows confidence in Uzbekistan’s economic development and Agrobank’s creditworthiness. KfW IPEX-Bank provides emerging market banks with financing for trade transactions involving German and European companies. Such arrangements make payment processes smoother and reduce transaction risks for suppliers.
This financing strengthens economic ties between Europe and Uzbekistan while supporting agricultural modernization goals. The facility gives Agrobank capacity to finance imports of farming equipment and green technologies from European suppliers, helping both Uzbekistan’s development and European export growth.
