Pakistan launches UK-supported anti-narcotics platform

Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force rolled out a new Digital Case Management System nationwide to improve drug case handling and speed up enforcement actions, according to a UK government announcement. The British-backed system helps ANF officers register cases, manage evidence, and integrate lab results digitally across all regional headquarters and police stations. Officials launched the program at ANF headquarters in Rawalpindi after a successful pilot run in February.

Drug trafficking cases have long struggled with paperwork delays, data silos, and slow reporting between agencies. The new system tackles these problems by letting officers share information in real time and track cases more efficiently. Pakistani authorities can now handle high-volume narcotics cases faster while keeping better records of evidence and lab work.

British High Commissioner Jane Marriott and Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi attended the launch ceremony alongside ANF Director General Major General Abdul Moeed.

“The initiative reflects the UK’s commitment to working with Pakistan to tackle serious and organised crime,” Marriott said.

The system benefits both countries by strengthening law enforcement cooperation against international drug networks.

Minister Naqvi praised the digital upgrade as a game-changer for border security. “This digital transformation, backed by the British High Commission, equips ANF to handle high-volume narcotics cases with greater efficiency,” he said during closing remarks.

The collaboration helps secure communities on both sides while building stronger ties between UK and Pakistani law enforcement.

Future upgrades may connect the system to external databases and add financial tracking features for narcotics-related crimes. The UK plans continued support as Pakistan expands the platform’s capabilities.
