Announcing the sector’s largest CV Database for development professionals

For years, DevelopmentAid has been at the forefront of providing information services to organizations and institutions working in the field of sustainable development. We created the largest self-administered CV database (known as the Default Database or DDB), in which nearly 100,000 individuals uploaded and updated their educational experience, field of expertise, capabilities, and contact information.

We also had a separate repository known as the Advanced Database (ADB), which contained 20,000 verified and vetted personal profiles and focused exclusively on experts with more than five years of experience in the sustainable development sector. These CVs were standardized and classified with semantic tags to ensure that every CV was accurate and easily searchable for project proposal writers and recruiters.

Members constantly told us how much they appreciated the structure of our ADB, its formatted CVs, and how easy it was to use during tight tender deadlines. Because of this feedback, we knew that it was time to take this database to the next level by merging the information in the DDB into our new and improved Expert Database.

Today, featuring more than 100,000 total records, our newly expanded database contains CVs in four major donor formats (European Commission, the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, and the African Development Bank) and comes with a powerful search engine to quickly and easily surface relevant results for proposal writers and recruiters.

Based on years of experience working with trusted partners, including multilateral institutions and donor agencies, having access to a vibrant and growing number of individual experts with expertise in the development sector makes it much easier to staff open positions and identify candidates for professional collaborations.

From here on out, the records for all individual CV profiles will be found in our Expert Database, making it easier than ever to find professionals with the relevant expertise and experience your organization requires. The database is open for DevelopmentAid members with Recruitment PRO and Premium membership plans.

How it works

All CVs and relevant details, such as contact information, are formatted (using AI when necessary) in a standardized way and then semantically tagged to make it easy and reliable to find candidates, while still preserving:

  • The original CV as uploaded,
  • Other uploaded documents, and
  • Any additional files shared by experts.

As before, all records in the expanded Expert Database will be classified with semantic tags and arranged in a standardized format to ensure that searching for the right individual for your vacant role or a collaborative position will quickly yield accurate and useful results.

CVs can be searched via a number of qualifications, including:

  • citizenship,
  • sector of expertise,
  • work experience,
  • languages spoken (and proficiency in those languages),
  • countries worked in,
  • experience with funding agencies,
  • educational levels, and
  • gender.

Recruiters and proposal writers can perform a free text search when they look for specific qualifications.

Every CV in our newly expanded Expert Database is arranged in a standardized format so you can quickly review a summary of their background and qualifications at a glance. With one click, their full CV will be displayed in any of the five standard formats, and you can then download that CV in a .doc file for your convenience.

For recruiters and proposal writers

Our new Expert Database will allow you to:

  • Download a CV with one click in all official formats,
  • Quickly adjust the information to a project, and
  • Tailor a CV to a specific call without needing to start from scratch.

The database gives you access to a larger, richer, and smarter pool of experts. Instead of being limited to just 20,000 profiles, you will now have full access to our entire talent pool of experts.

Our mission is to help organizations reduce the time needed to shortlist candidates that are best suitable for their open roles or collaboration opportunities. We believe that by combining our two databases into one powerful repository that contains both seasoned veterans and up-and-coming professionals in the sustainable development sector, organizations will be able to find the right person for their vacant positions more easily and accurately.

Whether you are an assistant in an HR department or a Senior Recruiter with a multinational consultancy, our newly expanded Expert Database is designed to significantly reduce the amount of time and effort needed to shortlist suitable candidates.
