The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group will hold its 2026 Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan, from 16 to 19 June 2026, according to a press release. Held under the High Patronage of H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the event will bring together high-level decision makers from across the IsDB Group’s 57 Member Countries and partners worldwide. The announcement was made in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on 7 May 2026. The gathering will convene under the theme “Regional Integration for Sustainable Prosperity.” It marks a significant moment for Azerbaijan as host of the IsDB’s flagship international gathering.

This occasion represents the second time in the past 15 years that Azerbaijan will host the IsDB Group’s flagship annual event. The Meetings are recognized as one of the most prominent platforms for dialogue within the Islamic finance and development community. Azerbaijan’s role as host reflects its continued engagement with the IsDB Group. The program will gather policymakers, experts, and global development actors. The setting in Baku underscores the country’s position within the Member Country network.

The Meetings will convene IsDB Group Governors, comprising ministers of finance, economy, international development, and planning. They will be joined by key global development players, leaders of multilateral and bilateral development institutions, and Islamic finance experts. Private sector representatives, non-governmental organizations, academia, and media are also expected to participate. The Annual Meetings serve as a premier platform to deliberate on key issues affecting Member Countries. They also aim to foster dialogue, knowledge exchange, and strategic partnerships.

The program will feature statutory meetings of the Boards of Governors, the IsDB Group Private Sector Forum, high-level roundtables, and knowledge sharing sessions highlighting critical development priorities. According to the IsDB, “regional integration presents promising development pathways and brings sustainable and efficient solutions to growing and complex development challenges.” The theme aligns with the Islamic Development Bank Group’s Ten-Year Strategic Framework (2026–2035). That framework highlights regional integration as a key driver of resilient, inclusive, and sustainable growth across Member Countries. The chosen theme is positioned as particularly timely in the current development landscape.

The 2026 Annual Meetings are expected to advance dialogue on shared development priorities among IsDB Member Countries. Participants will engage through both statutory sessions and knowledge-focused discussions across the four-day program. Registration and further program updates are available on the official Annual Meetings website at https://am.isdb.org. The event will connect institutional leaders and stakeholders around the central theme of regional integration. Baku will serve as the meeting point for these deliberations from 16 to 19 June 2026.
