The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank established in 2016 to finance infrastructure and productive sectors for sustainable economic development. Evolving from 57 founding members, the Bank currently comprises 111 member economies, including 106 full members and 5 prospective members. As of September 2026, AIIB has committed over US$76 billion across 388 projects spanning 42 economies worldwide, building a robust project pipeline with growing procurement opportunities.
Focused on sustainable infrastructure investment, AIIB partners with public- and private‑sector clients to deliver high‑quality projects that advance connectivity, sustainability, innovation, and inclusive growth. According to the Bank’s 2025 Annual Operational Procurement Report, between 2016 and 2025, AIIB‑financed projects generated more than 16,450 signed contracts worth US$26.6 billion, with transport, energy and water sectors accounting for the largest share of procurement value. Open competition accounted for 94.3% of total signed contract value, reflecting AIIB’s commitment to fairness, transparency and value for money. Under international open competition, the Bank’s preferred procurement method for high‑value contracts, domestic firms captured 61.1% of total signed contract value over this period, demonstrating strong economic benefits for recipient economies.
