Environmental leaders are calling on state lawmakers to pass an amendment that supports “renewable energy initiatives.”
The proposed amendment also calls for an end to funding fossil fuel pipelines.
Those pipelines would reportedly cost electrical rate-payers across the northeast a total of over $6.6 billion.
Environmental leaders across the state say passing the amendment would save Connecticut residents money.
“We are perplexed at the abandonment of fuel cells as a clean, reliable cost-competitive energy solution by some within the state.”
Leaders also say the amendment would reduce our reliance on fossil fuels.
