Vietnam has undergone a dramatic economic transformation to become a lower middle-income country. However, a variety of challenges undermine the country’s global integration and inclusive growth. USAID’s development assistance is accelerating Vietnam’s transition to a more inclusive, responsible partner with a market-based economy.
USAID programs in Vietnam support the country’s continued development by focusing resources where they’re needed most in economic growth and governance, civil society, higher education, health security, social services for vulnerable populations, and environment.
Under the new program, USAID trained nearly 22000 farmers in Vietnam to sustainably grow and market cacao. Advancing their economic potential and ability to contribute to global markets. Therefore reducing the need for foreign assistance.
On September 25th, 2018, Craig Hart Deputy Mission Director at USAID, Vietnam will participate at the Vietnam Economic Infrastructure Development Forum to discuss upcoming business opportunities in Vietnam.
