The U.S. Trade and Development Agency awarded a grant to Companhia de Transmissão de Energia Elétrica Paulista S.A (ISA CTEEP), an electricity transmission company in the State of São Paulo, supporting the development of a grid automation and cybersecurity implementation plan.
The technical assistance will deploy the recommended technologies, solutions and protocols for substation protection, control, and monitoring across its country-wide operations in the near-to-medium term. As the energy sector can often be a target for cyber attacks, the project will also help to secure networks in order to prevent attacks and protect sensitive information.
“U.S. companies are market leaders in grid automation and monitoring technologies,” said Gabrielle Mandel, USTDA’s Country Manager for Brazil and Paraguay, “and we hope that cutting-edge U.S. solutions can contribute to ISA CTEEP’s objectives.
