There are 50,000 jobs in Vietnam. Most people who want to work do so. However, most jobs are low quality.
The emerging global megatrends may offer opportunities to improve the quality of jobs in Vietnam.
World Bank identified five emerging megatrends for better future jobs in Vietnam:
1. The rise of the Asian and Vietnamese consumer class
2. Expansion of global and regional trade
3. The rise of knowledge economies
4. Automation in the workplace
5. Aging population
To do so, Vietnam needs to increase the number of jobs created in the modern sectors; to increase the quality of jobs in traditional sectors; and to develop a more agile and broadly skilled labor force, that is able to adapt to changing future employment.
On September 25th, 2018, international financial institutions and representatives of worldwide development agencies will meet for the Vietnam Economic Infrastructure Development Forum to discuss upcoming business opportunities in Vietnam. The event will take place at the Hilton Hanoi Opera Hotel.
