Accelerating renewable energy in Small Island Developing States

The Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Lighthouse initiative was launched at the 2014 Climate Summit to seize the momentum provided by the summit, to support renewable energy development across small island developing states.

Thanks to the strong political commitment by SIDS, more than 400 MW of renewable energy capacity has been installed and over half a billion dollars mobilized in SIDS lighthouses initiative partners from 2014 to 2017, three years ahead of schedule.
