The poorest people in the world are trapped in what is called the ‘cycle of poverty’.
Their families are so poor that they cannot access the necessary resources to improve their lives. In turn, this makes them poorer and spins them into an unbreakable vicious circle. Unless they are helped to break away.
An IFAD-supported project in Pakistan is targeting families that have been trapped in bonded labor for generations. They are now getting the opportunity to own their own house, build their own business and finally break free from the cycle of poverty.
