Bangladesh achieved the Millennium Development Goal for access to water supply three years ahead of time. Now, 98 percent of Bangladeshis can access better water sources. Yet, the country faces a number of water challenges such as water quality, depleted groundwater level, pollution, and low access to piped water in slums.
