Since 2010, Papua New Guinea’s Urban Youth Employment Project (UYEP) has been working to build employment skills and opportunities in the nation’s capital, Port Moresby.
Through UYEP, more than 18,500 young Papua New Guineans have received training and work placement and approximately 815,000 labor days have been created. The project, co-financed by Australia’s DFAT, will now be expanded beyond Port Moresby to include Lae City, the country’s industrial hub.
