Data Protection in International Development

Every single day, vast amounts of information are transmitted, stored and collected across the globe. As every organization becomes a data-collecting institution, the importance of data protection and privacy is increasingly recognized, not least in the context of international development.

To hold organisations accountable for the transparency and security of any personal information they possess, on May 25, 2018 the European Union adopted the General Data Protection Regulation, known as GDPR.
