BETA Studio from Italy has been a client of ours since 2016 and we were delighted to receive an unexpected visit by the company’s business development unit on October 9th, 2019. This was a great opportunity to learn about their experience of using our platform to enable BETA Studio to find new markets and new opportunities. BETA Studio is an engineering company providing Consultancy and Technical Services in the water, environment and civil engineering sectors. Established in 1977, it is based in Italy with its headquarters in Padua, and in Argentina with its head office in Buenos Aires.
We mostly work on projects connected to water management. If there is ‘water’ in the procurement announcement – you will find us among the applicants for the project. Our focus is on consultancy services and engineering design, as we are an engineering company. We have good experience in the field, after completing major projects in Balkans region (Southeast Europe), Eastern Europe, East African community (EAC), Southern African Development Community (SADC) and Latin America, explained Mr. Agostino Avanzi, Manager of International Business Development and Mr. Tommaso Dominato, hydraulic engineer at BETA Studio.
He added that the company has experience in fields like hydraulics, hydrology, applied to the design of water supply and sanitation infrastructures, flood protection and river engineering, irrigation and land reclamation, urban drainage, dams for multipurpose uses, environmental management, water quality and climate change.
BETA Studio is currently involved in 13 ongoing projects worldwide, with budgets varying between 60 thousand EURO and 2 million EURO. Mr. Avanzi mentioned that the company he represents is involved, among others, in 3 ongoing projects in the Republic of Moldova. This includes a project that involves the identification of which of the 11,000 existing lakes are to be liquidated to resolve poor water management at two major rivers basins running across the Republic of Moldova. According to the company’s representatives, BETA Studio is providing consultancy services to the official national water governance body (Apele Moldovei) through SDG and ADA funds. The projects outcomes are also based on the hydraulic modelling performed through the “Management and technical assistance support for “Moldova flood protection project” funded by EIB over 2013-2016. Mr. Avanzi affirmed that the company uses the DevelopmentAid platform to expand its area of operations.
BETA Studio is continually developing its business and looking for new opportunities. We recently carried out a research on the Asian market and via the DevelopmentAid platform we discovered a very good funding opportunity from the World Bank Group in Vietnam and Laos which we applied for.
