JICA aids restoration of bridges

The agency will provide assistance for the reconstruction of the ravine Poisson and Cul De Sac bridges.

The Government of Saint Lucia and the Government of Japan will, today, sign a Japanese aid agreement.

The assistance, provided through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), will make available technical and financial assistance to the Government of Saint Lucia for the reconstruction of two bridges—the Ravine Poisson and Cul de Sac bridges.

In keeping with the National Hazard Mitigation Policy that aims to reduce the country’s vulnerability to natural hazards and the impact of climate change, the government has welcomed the initiative to reconstruct the two bridges.

The Signing of Exchange Notes for Japanese Grant Aid Agreement will be held at the Office of the Prime Minister, on the fifth floor of the Greaham Louisy Administrative Building.
