World Economic Forum and OECD sign Strategic Partnership Framework

The World Economic Forum and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development signed a Strategic Partnership Framework to deepen institutional engagement and jointly accelerate inclusive and sustainable growth globally.

The framework consists of three pathways for collaboration, utilizing the collective power of both institutions, including insights, partnerships, and platforms to advance impact, with strengthened coordination to enable a further strategic approach for collaboration.

“Both the OECD and the Forum are striving to address the huge challenges of a world that is undergoing fundamental changes. Seizing the opportunities of the digital transformation and ensuring our economies grow in an inclusive and sustainable way are the responsibilities of us all. This strategic partnership will complement our understanding and help reinforce our actions,” said Angel Gurría, OECD Secretary-General.

The collaboration will draw from both organisations’ thematic focuses. The OECD covers themes ranging from economic development, education and skills, employment, labour and social affairs, entrepreneurship, regional and urban development, environment, financial and enterprise affairs, science, technology and innovation, statistics and data, tax policy and administration, as well as trade and agriculture.

Among the World Economic Forum Platforms include Shaping the Future of New Economy and Society, Shaping the Future of Global Public Goods, Shaping the Future of Technology Governance (including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies, and IoT, Robotics and Smart Cities, etc.).
