The Digital Disruption in Agriculture Forum is an annual gathering of key stakeholders in the fields of technology and agriculture. The forum will help identify digital tools and services that can be successfully used in Ethiopia.

Digital technologies in agriculture can lead to greater efficiencies that help countries leapfrog agricultural advances and overcome fragmentation in markets dominated by small-scale producers.

Among other things, properly deployed digital tools can improve traceability, strengthen resilience, and boost information transfer and quality, leading to better food safety and productivity in agricultural systems.

The use of digital technologies in agriculture remains limited in many low-income countries, often because of infrastructure, affordability, awareness, and regulatory issues. The World Bank Group is working to identify promising digital products and services that can be applied to improve agriculture practices and yields, bettering the lives of smallholding farmers and improving countries’ economies.

Speakers and exhibitors at the forum are leaders in their fields and include established companies and promising start-ups. Participants will have an excellent opportunity to learn from and network with these pioneers in digital technologies.

Over 200 individuals representing private, public and non-profit actors with an interest in digital agriculture will be present. Selected organizations may also showcase their tools and services in the Innovation Marketplace.
