The ADBI–Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation webinar, organized in collaboration with the Institute for Fiscal Studies, will feature Raymond Guiteras of North Carolina State University who will present four studies on promoting sanitation investment, maintenance, and use in rural areas of Tanore, Bangladesh.

The focus will be on the impact of hygienic latrine subsidies on investment and the positive social spillover effects. It will also assess follow-up measures to sustain these benefits and how local politicians and households respond to sanitation service delivery improvements.

About the Speaker

Raymond Guiteras is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at North Carolina State University. His research concentrates on how households in developing countries seek to protect themselves from environmental health risks, in particular, through water, sanitation, and hygiene-related investments and behaviors.
