Description

Detailed description of project:

Considering the present workload and operating mode of SCA, namely delivery of more than 60 regular reports, including Internal Statistical Bulletin and Customs Statistical Bulletin, and over 1,000 ad-hoc reports, all varying in complexity, time and resources consumption, the Business Intelligence system would come as a system that transforms data and informational assets into insightful analysis, which should in this case result in a significant improvement of the performance of SCA and other agencies using data. Therefore more efficient business processes of control and services in SCA.

The BI system will be created using the following existing software licenses:

• Microsoft SQL Server 2005, that includes the components: Database Engine (the core service for storing, processing and securing data);

• SQL Server 2005 Integration Services (extract, transform and load (ETL) component of SQL Server 2005);

• SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services (the core service for supporting rapid analysis of business data, delivering online analytical processing (OLAP) and data mining functionality in business intelligence applications);

• SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services (a server-based reporting platform that provides comprehensive data reporting from relational and multidimensional data sources);

• Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (a comprehensive collaboration, publishing and dashboard solution).
