This contract saw John Holland and Alliance partners design and construct four projects for the Coffs Harbour City Council, including; a new 56ML/day state-of-the-art water treatment plant; a 72,000EP water reclamation plant; several community buildings and a road extension.

The new water treatment plant aids council in the removal of identified water quality risks and helps ensure that Australian Drinking Water Guidelines continue to be met. This is achieved by using a Dissolved Air Flotation Filtration (DAFF) process with the operational flexibility of direct filtration mode, also optimising both capital and operational costs.

The water reclamation plant construction included inlet works, oxidisation ditches, clarifiers, sludge dewatering, cloth filtration, UV systems, chlorine contact tank, control building, and associated pipe and plumbing works and is used to irrigate local crops and sporting fields and to provide dust suppression.

The road extension works included the design and construction of the Hogbin Drive Extension, including an overpass bridge, which provides a vital north-south arterial road for the city. This complex, multi-discipline program of works was delivered both ahead of time and under budget.
