Description

Linking Real Lives – Creating Solidarity with Older People in Developing Countries.

The overarching objectives of this call for proposals are to support actions aiming at raising public awareness of development issues and promote education for development in the European Union (EU) and acceding countries1 to anchor development policy in European societies, to mobilise greater public support for action against poverty and fairer relations between developed and developing countries, and to change attitudes to the issues and difficulties the developing countries and their peoples are facing.

1 See footnote 1.

The Strategy Paper 2007 – 2010 for the programme “Non-State-Actors and Local Authorities in Development” foresees for this component also actions in acceding countries. However, at this stage none of the accession candidate countries has signed an Accession Treaty and it is therefore not possible to foresee actions in these countries within the framework of the present Call for proposals.
