Short description:
Consultancy in relation to Transboundary Water Management with Mekong River Commission.
Objective and indicators:
The consultancy contributes to the following two objectives (outputs) in line with MRC-GIZ Cooperation Programme Objectives and as set out in key MRC documents (Strategic Plan, 2018 Annual Work Plan):
1) Review and Update of the Design Guidance for Proposed Mainstream (and Tributary) Dams on the Lower Mekong Basin
2) Review and Update of the MRC Sustainable Hydropower Development Strategy (SHDS2018)
Specifically, under these TOR, GIZ is recruiting one international expert to support GIZ staff based at the MRCS Planning Division in their advice and technical support to the MRCS Director of Planning and the new Sustainable Hydropower Specialist in terms of
i) Advice on inception of the two proposed studies/outputs;
ii) Provision of independent reviews of key technical reports and presentations;
iii) Facilitation of related workshops with MRC member countries
iv) Provision of related technical background information (coaching)
