Description

Building on previous and on-going work, this project will finalize and apply a methodology to assess the societal benefits of environmental protection to all of the countries of the ENP.

The beneficiary countries will be, in the ENP Eastern region: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova; Russia; and in the ENP South region: Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Palestinian Authority, Lebanon and Syria.  It will aim to:

  • Achieve improved understanding and awareness of the economic and social benefits of environmental improvement
  • Improve the capacity of beneficiary countries to assess the economic and social benefits of environmental improvement and integrate environmental considerations into wide policy development
  • Improve capacity of beneficiary countries to set strategies and prioritise convergence of their environmental policies and legislation with those of the EU under the ENP Action Plans and the EU-Russia Common Economic Space road-map.
