Description of the procurement: The present contract will be implemented in 2 provinces: Southern Province, and North-Western Province. It focuses on two main thematic areas: (a) generation and administration of local revenues are, based on the principles of good governance (particularly transparency, efficiency, and accountability) improved; (b) selected local public services are provided in an increasingly effective manner, taking into account marginalised sections of the populations (“leave no one behind”). The staff of the consultancy firm will work closely with local authorities in the partner provinces. In this context, the consultancy firm will be responsible for the capacity development of local authorities and other identified stakeholders and will have strong role in advising and facilitating new models and processes for service delivery in water, sanitation and waste management as well as conducting trainings and advisory services on issues around local revenue enhancement. It includes Long-term expert and short-term-experts as well as e.g. workshops and trainings.
