Scope of Contract: Contract of Package CS2.1: "Develop feasibility study for credited NAMA, propose carbon pricing instruments and roadmap for applications of MBIs in solid waste sector"
The consulting services (“the Services”) include:
(1) Identify and develop a crediting program feasible for the urban solid waste management sector in Vietnam (excluding hazardous waste. The sector includes landfill and other waste treatment options, such as composting, and waste reduction initiatives) and develop a GHG emissions data collection and management system enabling the implementation of the crediting program;
(2) Develop a MRV system for a potential crediting program in the urban solid waste management sector;
(3) Survey the current situation of urban solid waste management in selected 3 cities (this is likely to include HaNoi, Binh Duong, and Da Nang/PhuTho/HaiPhong) to conduct a pre-feasibility study for a potential crediting program based on the recommendation under Task 1;
(4) Study and propose a roadmap for application of appropriate carbon pricing instruments, MBIs in the solid waste management sector in the mid- and long run; and
(5) Stakeholder consultations for the information gathering and awareness enhancement and training workshops for the capacity building.
