Assignment: Dengue Fever data collection in Ha Noi, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, and Dong Nai provinces, Vietnam.
The baseline assessment for the integrated dengue early warning system driven by Earth Observations in Vietnam project will ascertain the pre-intervention knowledge and use of dengue prevention and control techniques by national, provincial and district stakeholders supported by the project, as well as community
members before the project starts, to set a standard to measure change within the key impact and outcome areas. Findings at endline will be compared to the baseline, in order to assess the outcomes and impact of the dengue early warning system. The initial round of baseline data collection which took place during June 2018 focused on setting the baseline with respect to pre-invention knowledge and use of dengue prevention and control techniques by national and provincial stakeholders. The objective of the second and final 2018 baseline data collection will be to understand and assess the level of understanding and the quality of preventive actions taken by the community and health staff from communes and districts in the four pilot provinces), as well as obtain feedback from the Provincial level Centres for Disease Control (PCDC, and representatives of Provincial offices of the Ministry of Health.
Objectives for the second survey:
• To understand the current degree of actions taken in relation to dengue prevention and control
• To understand the limitations of actors at the District level which affects their ability to respond
effectively.
• Gather data that enables us to assess pathways within the Theory of Change.
