The firm of consultants is expected to support the EE component in the successful introduction of ISO 50001 based EnMS in the Nigerian Industrial Sector.

Therefore, under this assignment the firm of consultants will support the EE component in achieving the following results:

Awareness on energy management systems (EnMS) is created and discussions are engaged with key stakeholders on the adoption of ISO 50001 by Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON);

A strategy for ISO 50001 adoption and implementation is developed;

Capacities of policy makers are built in design, implementation and monitoring of policies and programs for market uptake of EnMS in the industrial sector;

Energy managers from industry associations (the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) and the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN)) are trained and certified to ISO 50001;

The management systems of two pilot industrial facilities, from two different industrial sub sectors, are certified to ISO 50001.
