Technical Assistance to the Transport Sector

The project consists of support to the Ministry of Transport, for improving the capacity of the road, railway and civil aviation administrations. It will be implemented through the harmonization of transport-related legislation, assistance to the Project Implementation Units (roads and railway infrastructure) and establishment of institutional and operational procedures for the Civil Aviation Administration. The project will be implemented through one services contract intended to accomplish: road and railway administration to operate effectively within a reformed institutional framework; effective implementation of ongoing IFI programmes and provision of a catalyst to further IFI investment that will improve the quality of the existing transport system; and enhance capacity to attract external sources of investment funding.
