Description

TA No.: TA-9473 REG

Executing Agency: Asian Development Bank

Contract name: Olam International Limited: Inclusive, Sustainable, and Connected Coffee Value Chain (Subproject 1)

Contract description: The project will be designed around the registration of 9,000 new smallholder coffee farmers in Indonesia into the Olam Farmer Information System (OFIS), of which 2,000 will be Arabica coffee farmers in North Sumatra and 7,000 will be Robusta coffee farmers in South Sumatra. This requires building on-the-gournd relationships with farmers in both locations and collecting data through baseline and annual surveys. Information collected should be used to design training programs including Good Agricultural Practices, Integrated Pest Management, and Climate Smart Agriculture. The Consultant is expected to manage distinct but complementary and connected sets of activites based in Lampung and Medan. A part of this TA will be delivered as a collaboration with the Wildlife Conservation Society’s BBS KEKAL project. This includes developing training materials for robusta and arabica farmers, covering the provisions of the Olam Supplier Code, and other elements required by AtSource entry level.

Duration: 30 months
