Description

SIPU was contracted by Sida Lusaka to carry out a pre-study concerning Community Managed Improvements in Unplanned Areas. The assignment was followed by two consecutive assignments: one to provide a project proposal and another to provide monitoring services during the project implementation. The Community Managed Improvement in Chaisa project was a slum upgrading initiative, with a major community participation component. The project was designed taking into consideration issues like Poverty Alleviation, Local Economic Development, Gender, Alternative sanitation, HIV, citizens’ safety, environment and greening issues.
