Details
Locations:Germany
Start Date:Sep 1, 2000
End Date:Jan 1, 2002
Sectors: Civil Engineering
Description
In September 2000 the contract for the comprehensive planning was awarded to the KOCKS-Engineers.
Basis for the process of conversion was a survey of existing structures. The data were transferred into a CAD-System.
In close cooperation with the Client the overall layout as well as planning of a. m. 5 construction areas were carried out including safety and auxiliary measures to ensure the on-going production without disturbances.
Following the planning work KOCKS-Engineers prepared the regular documents for building permit application, final design drawings, specifications and bill of quantities for the construction works, took part in the contracting process and conducted the site supervision. The interior reconstruction works under running production turned out to be an extremely demanding engineering task. Phase planning and construction scheduling established at the beginning, ensured a smooth conduct of the building process.
The Project started in spring 2001 with erection of the Utility Building Extension and ended in September 2002 with finishing the extensions on top of the existing structures including restructuring the old interior.
The components for the new production lines were installed in May 2002 parallel with completion of the building, so the stand-still-period of the production could be held within the given limit of 49 days.
