Rehabilitation and Extension of Muertendall Sanitary Landfill

The contract awarded to KOCKS CONSULT GMBH by SIGRE included the following services:

- Design and detailed design of the whole landfill area;

- Construction quality assurance plan for the landfill bottom liner and capping systems;

- Stability calculations for the landfill slopes and the bottom liner and capping systems;

- Detailed designs for the first and second construction phases;

- Preparation of tender documents;

- Tender evaluation and recommendation of contract awards;

- Structural analyses of the buildings and engineering constructions;

- Design of the technical equipment for the buildings and engineering constructions;

- Design of the buildings;

- Advice on soil mechanics;

- Schedule for repositioning of waste;

- Surveying;

- Local construction supervision;

- Project management.

The following landfill components were designed:

- Planning of tipping phases and construction stages;

- Earthworks;

- Base lining (composite liner system);

- Leachate collection;

- Repositioning of waste;

- Landfill effluent gas collection system;

- Surface water drainage;

- Water supply and wastewater disposal;

- Entrance areas with administration and ancillary buildings.
