Description

Origin of funding: Oak Foundation

Programme: Housing and Homelessness

Sub-programme: Prevention

Purpose: To empower refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in London to thrive, contribute positively to the community, integrate and take control of their lives. This will be achieved through: 1) providing legal advice and information on immigration, housing and welfare; 2) preventing violence against women and girls; 3) providing training, volunteering and employment; 4) developing its clients as leaders and advocates; 5) incorporating mental health prevention and social engagement; and 6) campaigning against local and national policies and practices that are hostile and discriminatory. The Lewisham Refugee and Migrant Network aims to address the destitution and homelessness that many refugees, asylum seekers and migrants face due to their lack of regular immigration status.
