Vocational Training aimed at developing competences regarding the processing and marketing management of agricultural and fisheries products (incl. quality management)

The general objective of the project was to improve the know ledge of managing staff of agricultural and fishery processing units in the field of general management, financial and accounting management and marketing. The measure Vocational Training of the Romanian SAPARD Programme provides financial assistance to implement a comprehensive training programme in order to increase the competitiveness and capability of the Romanian agricultural and processing sector and its management staff to act successfully on the EU single market.
The management skills of trainees were improved in the fields of:
• General management
• Strategic planning of processing and marketing of agricultural products to meet market demands in terms of product innovation and quality; new production technologies for processing, packaging and production.
• Financial accounting management acc. to international accounting standards
• Marketing management of food products on domestic and internal markets
• Production planning and programming

• Business plan development incl. forecasts 
• Cost benefit analysis
• Introduction of quality assurance systems 
• Future development of EU Agricultural Policy with special regard to Rural Development in the period 2007‐
2013 and how it can be accessed by potential beneficiaries.

The training courses were implemented via seven training sessions. All participants were graduated after the successful finalisation of training courses by passing an exam. The consultant had to full fill all requirements of the Romanian SAPARD programme according to the application and implementation procedures.
