OBJECTIVE - Technical Assistance and training the medical managerial staff for the improvement of the health management institutions. - Supply of equipment to 188 health centres.

PROPERTIES AND SUPPLY SERVICES

Expected results

• Edition of books and guides with decentralized management models and methodology for Health Centers, adapted to the health conditions of every province and district concerned.

• Organization of 14 courses with 280 participants for the training of a trainers team in each province and district in the following subjects:: Urban Health, Resources Management, Health Emergencies, Social Marketing and Sport Medicine.

• Implement a new model of health management in at least one Health Center in each one of the three selected provinces, with European technical assistance during the first year.

• Training to a group of specialists of the Health Ministry for the design and execution of the plans of the Public Health.

• Training of Primary Care specialists organizing a master’s degree at the Mahidol University of BangkokBuilding renovation, equipment and training for 188 Health Centres.

Training Programme for maintenance technicians and doctors and sanitary staff. Supply of spare parts. Objective of the Project: Project of technical assistance and training of medical managerial staff for the improvement of the health management in Health Institutions. The training will be carried out within the framework of the decentralization of the existing health management in Indonesia, in three provinces (Yakarta, Palembang and Bogor), which comprise 43 districts and 188 health centers. Specific objective: Health management training of the medical managerial staff, in a decentralized structure in three provinces in Indonesia.

Services included:

- Institutional strengthening for the improvement of the management of the Health Centers.

- Edition of guidebooks for Health Centers.

- Training of health staff.

- Start up of Health Centers.

- Training of specialists.

- Information programs on health for the adult population.

Project objectives: Reinforce and improve the Heath Centres System in the provinces of Yakarta, Western Java and Mid Sumatra (42 million inhabitants in total), and design, development, and implantation of a new model of decentralised health organisation to be use as pilot experience for the entire country.

Project components: 1.- Supply of turn key equipment to 133 Health Centres 2.- Infrastructure reform of 133 Health Centres 3.- Technical assistance and implementation of a new system of organisation and health services procurement for 42 million inhabitants. Type of services provided: • Infrastructure reform. • Institutional reinforcement for the improvement of the Health Centres management. • Design, set up and Start up of 3 Health Centres • Design of Information and Communication Campaigns regarding the new health system programs for the adult population.
